Sorry for the length of the commentary today, but there’s a lot going on. In most of the U.S., the 2019 maximum conforming loan limit for one-unit properties will be $484,350, an increase from $453,100 in 2018. There is more detail below. Although modestly good news for lenders, as noted yesterday, jumbo mortgage rates are very attractive relative to conforming rates in many areas, so some argue the conforming mortgage limit is currently somewhat less meaningful.
