Professional Development Courses for License Renewal
Continuing education classes keep real estate professionals up to date on changes within the industry and ensure that home buyers are always working with well-informed agents.
In South Carolina, real estate agents must obtain 10 hours of CE classes in order to renew their license, and licenses last for two years.

South Carolina State Requirement Details for Real Estate Continuing Education
Renewal Date: 6/30 every two years
Hours Required: 10 hours
4 hours – Mandatory hours
6 hours – Elective hours
Salesperson or Broker: Per South Carolina Section 40-57-340, as a condition of active license renewal, a broker or salesperson shall provide proof of satisfactory completion biennially of ten hours of continuing education in courses. The ten hours must include a minimum of four hours of instruction in mandated topics.
Broker-in-Charge:
4 hours – Mandatory hours
4 hours – Core hours
2 hours – Elective hours
Broker-in-Charge: As part of their 2018 renewal, per South Carolina Section 40-57-340, a broker-in-charge shall provide proof of satisfactory completion biennially of ten hours of continuing education in courses approved by the commission. The ten hours must include a minimum of four hours of instruction in mandated topics for a broker or salesperson license and four hours of continuing education must be in advanced real estate topics designed for brokers-in-charge.
